About Denaya Black

Denaya is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) who works with those who have experienced trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment and spiritual wounds as well as those struggling with compulsive behaviors and those who have sexually offended; both online or physically. She works with individuals to assist in reintegrating the mind and body through internal family systems, somatic experiencing, EMDR and narrative processing techniques. Denaya takes a holistic approach in her work and understands that lifestyle adjustments assist in reducing symptoms. She is trained in sexual wellness, mental health and nutrition, somatic experiencing and technology addiction.

Currently, Denaya works in private practice through Turning Leaf Therapy in Minnetonka. She truly enjoys meeting people right where they are at and assisting in navigating what works best for them. Denaya incorporates her faith and biblical values into her work as it is the foundation in which she navigates life from. At the heart of all her professional experiences has been her deep need to sit with people during their highs and lows and to bring out the very best in them through increasing a healthy identity, a strong sense of self and increasing distress tolerance.

Personally, Denaya has been married 19 years and has two amazing children. You can find her cooking, hanging out with her family, walking, hiking and spending time with friends. She is also a ministry leader for her church’s Stephen Ministry and has assisted in bridging the needs of mental health and counseling services within her church.
